General Manager, Technology, IBM UK and Ireland
In this role Andrew is responsible for leading, transforming and expanding IBM's Technology adoption in the UK & Ireland. Andrew is focused on delivering superior client success and client experience and making IBM the trusted adviser & #1 Hybrid Cloud & AI provider in UK&I. Andrew has responsibility for the sales, strategy, management and delivery of IBM’s Systems, Public Cloud, Cloud & Cognitive Software including Integration, Data & AI Solutions, Security & Watson Applications used by over 10,000 clients throughout UKI to run their enterprises efficiently and securely, and to deliver engaging experiences for customers and employees, for Private, Public, Dedicated, Local clouds and on premise solutions. In this role Andrew also oversees all of the Software compliance, Client Success Teams as well as Expert Labs and Technology Garage business for UKI and overall covers over $2bn of IBM revenues annually. Andrew is a proven, globally experienced, results oriented senior executive in the IT industry with extensive leadership experience in multiple business areas such as: general management, business transformation, organizational and people development, integration, sales strategy and execution, building high performance sales teams, partner management, operations, technical solutions leadership. Andrew is also a member of IBM’s Acceleration Team which consists of IBM's top 300 senior executives, designed to lead and deliver growth and transformation across the entire company. Andrew’s previous senior leadership roles in Software include GM IBM Cloud & Cognitive Solutions EMEA, VP IBM Cloud & Cognitive Software Europe, VP WW Hybrid Cloud Software, VP WW Sales Systems Middleware & Director of Worldwide Sales Cloud & Smarter Infrastructure. He has held these positions working out of the UK, Japan and Canada during 27 years in IBM starting in an internship at the IBM Warwick Lab in 1994. Andrew graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Edinburgh Napier University in 1997 and received an IBM Executive MBA from Henley Management College in 2005. He has spoken at industry and executive events on leveraging information technology to deliver customer transformation, to accelerate the client’s journey to cloud whilst also embracing AI and Watson to deliver true competitive differentiation. Andrew has worked across many industries but has a close affinity to Banking & Insurance, Telecommunications and Government. Andrew currently lives in Twickenham, London, and has a daughter of 8, in his spare time he teaches spinning and enjoys long distance road cycling, and golf.
