The BIG Debate: How can data centres become more diverse?

08 Mar 2023
Keynote Global Strategies: People Environment and Innovation Theatre
Having a diverse workforce is of course a ‘good thing’ in and of itself. But it also has plenty of business benefits too: new perspectives, different ways of thinking and fresh approaches. We all know the risks of groupthink, so having a more diverse workforce helps challenge traditional ideas and helps us to innovate. But fostering diversity, and doing it well, can be surprisingly hard. Not only does it involve making an effort to expand your pool of candidates, but it also requires an openness to changing how you work too. In this session, diversity specialists will walk us through:
• The current state of diversity in the data centre workforce
• The importance of going beyond paying diversity lip service in job ads and interviews
• Acknowledging diversity isn’t always visible – e.g. neurodiversity and hidden disabilities
• How to attract candidates who might not ‘see themselves’ in your workforce
