Full stack collaboration for decarbonising digital infrastructure: An applications to data centers perspective for CIOs, CTOs, CSOs and data center leaders
It is time to end siloed thinking and actions to tackle sustainability across data centers and IT.
CIOs, CTOs, and Data Center Leaders must collaborate to decarbonize digital infrastructure across the full IT and data center stack.
This session explores Greener Data Strategies, Greening Space; Power and Cooling; Green Software Development and Applications; IT Architectures; along with Measurement, Monitoring, and Management Strategies.
Data centers only exist to serve IT workloads. It starts with #CIOs and #CTOs at both #enterprise and #cloud providers being clear about the workloads, their needs and their benefits. In pure power terms CIOs think about performance per watt at the sever level and engineers consider thousands of Mega Watt hours at a facility scale.
Take away: It will take combined efforts if digital is ever to become truly sustainable. We don’t need a grand unifying theory but practical actions at every layer of the stack where there are sustainability gains to be made.
