Avoiding data center outages caused by transient voltages

· The transient voltage stress and associated failures of magnetic equipment caused during the operation of fast-acting breakers (such as vacuum- or gas-insulated breakers) in medium voltage (MV) distribution networks is leading to critical data center failure with serious impacts to their revenue generation and operating costs.
· Without effective protection the transient voltages can reach a multiple of the specified design parameters of magnetic equipment.
· The presented use case of the MV transformer with Transient Voltage Protection TVP provides the only solution that has proven records of fully eliminating switching transient failures.
