A new enhanced colo site assessment, created under the OCP Data Center Facility Project leadership of Google and Meta, specifically caters to the needs of OCP's hyperscale member companies and seeks to align colocation data centre operators with the base building requirements that hyperscale DC operators need for their deployments. This enhanced assessment scrutinises a data centres’ logistics to identify facilities well-suited for wholesale leasing. Data centres that adhere to these guidelines and successfully complete the comprehensive colo site assessment and self certification process, can receive OCP Ready data center certification and recognition on the OCP Marketplace. This talk will explain how the OCP Ready hyperscale assessment helps colos avoid building un-usable critical infrastructure and reduce workload. This will in turn streamline the initial site selection process for hyperscale leasing teams and expedite their ability to rent and manage colo space and accelerate cloud region growth.
