Feasibility of Local Renewable Energy for a Green Data Centre
In 2012 in Trinity College Dublin, The University of Dublin, an award winning bespoke 'Green Data Centre' was designed and built by Future-tech in collaboration with Estates and Facilities and IT Services. Approaching its notional 'half-life' and in an era of Climate Change, Cathal is reviewing the current use of the Data Centre with a view to seeing what further developments can be made - in particular in relation to energy efficiency and the feasibility or otherwise of using renewable energy technologies to partly meet the power consumption demands of the Data Centre.
- Technology review of all components of the data centre
- Energy efficiency and drilling in to the PUE figure
- Feasibility or otherwise of local renewable energy sources
- Future enhancements to consider
