If It Only Had a Brain: How to Gain Control Over Risk, Density & Efficiency in Virtual & Cloud Infrastructure

Register free to attend this session

The critical challenge faced in managing virtual & cloud infrastructure is a lack of control.  The inability to properly understand and control all the moving parts prevents organizations from operating efficiently and achieving desired cost savings and density levels.

The complexity associated with shared infrastructure and mobile workloads, combined with varying technical, business and operational requirements across applications, has left organizations with no choice but to wildly over-provision shared environments in order to keep systems operational and safe.

But consider how different life could be if there was a single brain that could understand all of these factors and leverage them to intelligently guide workload placements and resource allocations, optimizing environments in accordance with the policies, configuration and current and future utilization requirements of the workloads.  And picture this brain being plugged into management tools and staff in order to route these actions to the appropriate systems and owners.  This kind of intelligent control starts with the right analytics.

Who should attend this session?
Cloud managers, virtualization managers, infrastructure managers
What will delegates learn from this session?  Delegates will learn: a)the role of policies in infrastructure management and planning; b)how to model capacity bookings of future application requirements; c)what is required for automation and how to safely enable it.

Why is this issue of interest to delegates?
Data centres are sometimes viewed more as cost centers as opposed to an opportunity to gain efficiency.  This session will help delegates analyze environments in order to gain control and do more with less while minimizing operational risk.
