InterxionBusiness Continuity in a mixed, virtual and physical world
Register free to attend this session
A major challenge for companies with virtualised environments is the inability to implement a complete disaster recovery solution which works across the heterogeneous datacentre working with physical and virtual roll-outs. It becomes an imperative for IT chiefs to locate an agile solution that works with the infrastructure to prevent the downtime of critical business processes, as datacentres are frequently changing. In these scenarios, end-users need to consider the importance of application-aware monitoring particularly within servers hosting tier-one applications. This presentation examines how disaster recovery solutions can work with physical, virtual or mixed environments to deliver 24/7 uptime in the event of a service interruption.
Who should attend this session?:
Information chiefs, IT managers
What will delegates learn from this session?:
The presentation will confirm how organisations that are highly virtualised, or are looking to increase server virtualisation, can benefit from centralised management and monitoring of physical and virtual assets from an application resiliency and business continuity perspective. Delegates will also learn how this could positively contribute to meeting virtualisation planning and implementation targets.
Why is this issue of interest to delegates?:
Businesses are aggressively working to improve the amount of virtual infrastructure they manage in order to optimise the performance of physical hardware, reduce power and cooling overheads, reduce data centre footprint and allow for a more flexible IT infrastructure. With more and more applications being hosted in virtual environments, businesses are challenged by how to protect applications running on VMs, as well as those that reside on more traditional physical hosts. To date, transparency around the health of both physical and virtual assets and applications has been a challenge, and delegates will be keen to learn of the steps that they should be taking to simplify this process.
