Data Centre World VisitorAn open approach to data centre management
Register free to attend this session
Data Centre Infrastructure Management is the convergence of management tools at the application, IT infrastructure and facilities layers into a unified management solution. DCIM provides a real time view of the entire data centre ecosystem, from power & environmental data through to network and application performance, coupled with capabilities for secure, auditable remote control of assets, for maintenance and rapid problem remediation.
An open approach is an extensible framework built around free and open tools and technologies, consolidating existing monitoring and management systems and reducing the complexity of managing a diverse array of systems from different hardware & software vendors. Such an extensible solution has the potential to go beyond reactive monitoring and management, to aid and automate fault diagnosis and remediation, further reducing MTTR.
Who should attend this session?
Network/Systems/Security Managers, Project Managers, IT/MIS Managers, Infrastructure Managers, Operations Engineers - from tier 1 up
What will delegates learn from this session?
- How to consolidate monitoring and control of disparate infrastructure from heterogeneous vendors using open tools
- How to leverage & extend existing systems for remote and out-of-band management
- How to cost effectively implement secure remote management forISO27001 compliance
- How to reduce MTTR with automatic fault diagnosis and recovery using open tools
Why is this issue of interest to delegates?
While proprietary DCIM solutions are proving themselves invaluable for maximising efficiency and reducing downtime, licensing & re-training costs and vendor lock-in concerns are a potential barrier to entry.
