TOPIC: Storage standards and Tiering

Bob Plumridge is the Director of Technical Marketing for Hitachi Data Systems in Europe Middle East & Africa and sits within the Solutions Marketing & Business Development Group.In this role Bob is responsible for all pre-sales support for the complete hardware & software product range, including both Hitachi’s own products and those supplied by third parties.

Bob also heads up the Hitachi Data Systems Solution & Performance Centre in EMEA.

Bob works to bring new products to the market, making sure that they fit within the Hitachi Data Systems’ Services Orientated Storage Solutions™ framework. He has the responsibility to ensure that the sales teams have all the information they need to sell and support any solution.

With close to 30 years experience in storage, Bob’s expertise is both wide and deep having worked in many roles in the industry from Field Engineering to Technical Product Support through to his present pre-sales support management role.

Bob has worked for a variety of companies including ICL, Memorex Telex and EMC prior to joining HDS in 1988.

Also Bob is currently serving on the Storage Networking Industry Associations board of Directors in EMEA as Treasurer.
